The rainy weather this week has not stopped the children having fun at nursery – in fact they have loved the puddles!
Learning about Patterns
The children have been learning about repeating patterns.
A world of Imagination
Whether it’s making a video game from stickle bricks, making a “dinosaur catcher” outside or making birthday cakes in the mud kitchen, the children’s imagination and creativity are growing daily and it is fascinating to watch them!
Early Writing
We have been incorporating lots of letter games and early writing activities into our group time sessions. The children love playing Letter Bingo and I Spy. They have also been writing for different purposes in their play.
Painting with Block Paints
The children have learnt how to use block paints, and the different effects that are produced, depending upon how much water they add to the paint.
The Pleasure of Paint
Many of the children are really enjoying using the paints at the moment and are expressing their ideas with growing confidence.
Budding Artists!
Taking inspiration from the artist Jackson Pollard, the children have been creating spatter paintings, developing a variety of techniques to create lines of dots. They had a great time!
Easter Chick Hunt
We had a hunt for chicks today around the nursery grounds. The children were very good at spotting them!
Learning about Patterns
Look at this fantastic pattern which was made with no adult help at all!
Children look carefully at objects as they begin to create their own designs.
Transient Art
This is simply art that is not permanently fixed to one place. We have various materials such as shells, glass beads, wooden rings and wooden bobbins to manipulate, create patterns and creatively explore.
